THE THREE PILLARS<\/h3>\n

Knowledge, Expertise and Collegiality are directly connected to the aims the Ecclesiastical Assets are intended for: acts of worship, decent support of the clergy and the countless variety of Works of charity, educational initiatives (from nursery schools to universities) to homes for the elderly and medical dispensaries, from reception centres for migrants to accommodation for pilgrims, to works of assistance for the poor to cultural activities in the outskirts of cities and at the margins of society, where the different institutions of the Church perform the Mission of evangelisation and promote human and social development.<\/p>\n

AIMS<\/h3>\n

The Permanent Observatory on Ecclesiastical Assets aims to disseminate the canonical asset management culture and best international practices in the management and administration of assets belonging to bodies connected to the Church or public bodies with within the Catholic Church. The Observatory is also involved in publicising concrete cases of successful uses of ecclesiastical assets for the institutional purposes these assets were allocated to.
\nThe Permanent Observatory on Ecclesiastical Assets is a tool at the service of the authorities responsible for the administration of assets that aims to support, help and accompany the decisions of the Roman Curia, the dioceses and episcopal conferences as well as the superiors and general treasurers of the Religious Congregations and the superiors of the Provinces and Institutions.
\nHowever, the main objective of the Permanent Observatory on Ecclesiastical Assets is to contribute to increasing the value of ecclesiastical assets by avoiding squandering these through poor management and failure to make essential innovations. This type of conduct risks contributing decisively to a gradual loss in the value of assets that have been accumulated over the centuries. The Observatory also has an extremely innovative vocation in identifying solutions for generating revenue and reorganising and revitalising assets to maximise, as much as possible, the value of assets in order to avoid having to sell them.
\nThe Permanent Observatory on Ecclesiastical Assets intends to train a new generation of managers of ecclesiastical assets with the necessary interdisciplinary expertise as well as a clear and accurate view of the Church and its aims. This professional role is called \u201cEcclesiastical Asset Manager\u201d. We are committed to highlighting that ecclesiastical assets are dynamic assets in virtue of the fact that the mission of evangelization is increasingly global, fully Catholic and thus universal in its dynamism – just as these assets should be.
\nThe Permanent Observatory on Ecclesiastical Assets is a bridge that promotes a dialogue with an international scope by organising congresses, events and meetings of various types to promote discussions and the exchange of experience between administrators and persons responsible for administering the assets.
\nThe Permanent Observatory on Ecclesiastical Assets was created to function as an independent instrument open to collaborations with everyone. Nevertheless, it is a completely free and independent institution that is not connected to any other institution. The Observatory is a not-for-profit organisation and must be supported financially to best perform its service and fulfil the aims described above.\n<\/p>\n
